Anchor Summer Wheat

Anchor-Summer-WheatCrisp and cool as a San Francisco summer.

From the Brewer – “The crisp, clean flavors of Anchor Summer® Wheat are refreshingly light, a thirst-quenching American-style filtered wheat beer.

Released each year in advance of the summer season, Anchor Summer® Wheat is an all-malt craft beer, with over 50% of its malt derived from malted wheat. It is fermented with a traditional top-fermenting “ale” yeast, yielding a clean, balanced flavor that highlights the refreshingly light flavor of malted wheat. The head is unusually abundant due to the natural protein deposits of wheat, with a thick consistency similar to meringue.

First brewed in the summer of 1984, Anchor Summer® Wheat is the first American wheat beer in modern times. Anchor Summer® Wheat is intended to be a lighter beer for those who don’t want to sacrifice historic tradition or character.”

Tröegs DreamWeaver Wheat Ale

troegs-dreamweaver-wheat-aleLong toasty days, cool breezy nights and a splash of magic provide the inspiration for the Tröegs brothers’ dreamiest creation—Dreamweaver Wheat. Combining wheat with Munich and Pilsner malts, German Northern Brewer hops, open-top fermentation and a yeast strain that imparts hints of pepper, clove and banana, Dreamweaver Wheat is an unfiltered blast of spicy, mouthwatering joy.

From the Brewer – “Our dream begins with open-top fermentation. At high krausen, a foamy, rocky yeast head crests the sides of the fermenter releasing notes of black pepper and spicy clove. Unfiltered and cloudy with yeast, it’s slightly tart and downright refreshing.

The DreamWeaver pairs well with lighter foods; salads, seafood, sushi and vegetable dishes.  Try it with goat cheese or an herb spread such as Boursin.

Brooklyn Greenmarket Wheat

Brooklyn-Greenmarket-WheatBrooklyn Greenmarket Wheat is a celebration of New York State agriculture, uniting local ingredients to create a beer with a mission.

We work with GrowNYC’s Greenmarket to source grain for the brew – they connected us to Lakeview Organic Farms to provide 70% of the grain used in our mash. The hops are grown on a family farm outside of Syracuse owned by our own Technical Director Mary Wiles, who grew up there.

From the Brewer – “Our brewers take raw wheat, grown at Oeschner Farms, malted barley, Mary’s hops, and Bavarian yeast and unite them into an unfiltered beer with light fruit flavors and a zesty palate. It’s great with foods from fresh salads to grilled meats. Proceeds from the beer sales support GrowNYC’s mission to revive New York’s grain industry and provide support to family farms, farmers markets, community gardens and other agricultural projects. It’s a New York beer, from New York farms, and now it’s all yours.
