Long Trail Harvest Barn Ale

From the Brewer – “The culmination of a long growing season, the autumn harvest comes once a year. We mark the end of summer with the release our seasonal brown ale, Harvest. Vermont maple syrup added during the brewing process yields a lasting sweetness on the palate that’s guaranteed to warm your soul alongside the rich, chocolate profile and earthy hop character. Raise a glass and enjoy the spirit of the season. Pairs well with wood-splitting, leaf-raking and pumpkin carving.”

Weyerbacher Winter Ale

Weyerbacher-Winter-AleFrom the Brewer – “At Weyerbacher, we’ve created a Winter Ale that is a must for any malty beer lover. Winner of a Silver Medal in the 1998 World Beer Championships, Weyerbacher Winter Ale is brewed with deep-roasted chocolate malt. The taste predominates with a warm, roasty flavor, balanced out with a slightly dry finish. It’s smooth but not cloying, with a warming belt of alcohol, 5.6% ABV.

Although winter ales predate history, they are believed to have their origin in the pagan celebrations of winter solstice. Later, when monasteries produced the local brew, winter ales were made each year to commemorate the birth of Christ. Back then, winter ales were brewed full-bodied as a source of nutrition for the upcoming winter months. Today, winter ales are typified by their seasonality, their rich, malty flavors and by their deep, dark coloration.

Winter Ale is the perfect libation for a winter meal, with good friends, or beside a warm fire fending off a cold winter night.”

Atlantic Brewing Blueberry Ale

Atlantic-Brewing-Blueberry-AleFrom the Brewer – “Nearly twenty years ago, a local farmer stopped by our brew pub looking to sell his truck full of wild Maine blueberries, providing the inspiration for our Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale. That year our beer debuted at the first-ever Maine Brewer’s Festival where it was enthusiastically received. This brew stands alone as a beer first, ending with a subtle berry finish. Unlike many fruit beers on the market, which are imbalanced with sweetness our amber ale isn’t overly fruity—just enough berry flavor to complement the hops.

Captain Lawrence Winter Ale

Captain-Lawrence-Winter-AleThe one thing we all need on a dark winter night is a beer to help us forget about the cold and remind us that sunny days lie ahead. Not too dark but evenly brewed with spices and malts making it a solid winter warmer.

From the Brewer – “Brewed with our German ale yeast, lightly toasted malts & enhanced with a blend of winter spices this beer should do the trick. Malty, rich and a touch spicy.”

This lovely spiced ale would pair well with rich roasty meats, beef stew & goes great with Shepard’s Pie.

Atlantic Brewing Bar Harbor Real Ale

Atlantic-Brewing-Bar-Harbor-Real-AleFrom the Brewer – “When we opened back in 1991 this was our first beer. We created this recipe while brewing with our mentor Pierre in his friend’s garage in Montreal. We wanted to develop a beer that was smooth and easy-drinking, yet still retained an assertive body to set it apart. The result was a beer with nice caramel tones and a balance of the malt and hop profiles. Over time we have refined the ingredients to achieve what we feel is a perfectly balanced session brew.

Bar Harbor Thunder Hole Ale

From the Brewer – “Delicious. Full-bodied. Complex. Sure, you can say all those things. Wouldn’t it be a lot more fun to take a sip of this handcrafted brown ale and come up with your own superlatives? This is the brown ale that beat Newcastle, Sam Adams and more, at the World Beer Championships in Chicago.

Deep amber hue. Rich roasted, toffee-like aromas follow through on medium-bodied palate with assertive spicy hops upfront and toasted caramel malt flavors that finish in a mildly fruity manner. An elegant and complex Brown Ale.”
