Heavy Seas Winter Storm Category 5 Ale

From the Brewer – “Our winter ale brewed with copious helpings of English malts and both U.S. and English hops making it a ruddy hued Imperial ESB in style. Full malty flavors dancing with powerful hop aromas and a lingering yet firm hop bitterness.

Pairs well with very sharp cheddar, stews, and grilled ribs.

Recipe: Winter Storm Veggie Stew

This hearty stew is quite versatile and gets its deep flavor from the beer.  Use whichever root veggies you have on hand.  You can cut down prep time by using leftover grilled veggies.

4oz Onion soup mix
12oz cream cheese
¼ c dried parsley (or 1/2c fresh)
2 acorn squash
2 butternut squash
10 baby potatoes (cut)
2 large onions, quartered
½ stick butter
6oz of Winter Storm

Cut squash in half and remove seeds, brush with olive oil.  Cut potatoes & wrap in foil with the onion & a little olive oil. Oven roast the squash & potatoes on 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Scoop out squash in large chunks.

Once veggies are ready, mix onion soup & water and bring to a boil. Add cream Cheese, butter, Winter Storm.  Add veggies then simmer on low heat for 1 hour.

Variations:  add carrots, mushrooms, beef.  Anything goes!
